How to Complete Your Texas SAE First Renewal
If you've already received your first renewal notice from the Texas Real Estate Commission, it's time to get started on your Sales Apprentice Education. Our Texas SAE First Renewal Package includes all the credit hours you need to complete your first license renewal.
Before you submit your renewal application, make sure you have received the renewal notice from TREC. It typically sends the notice 90 days before your license expires. You have up to six months after your license's expiration date to renew.
Step 1: Complete the Required Sales Apprentice Education Courses
The first time you renew your real estate license, you need to complete 98 hours of TREC-approved courses, including two classes that update you on important changes to Texas laws and regulations.
You can complete all your renewal courses online. But you can't take courses that are substantially similar to any qualifying education courses you've taken in the past two years.
Step 2: Submit Forms and Course Completion Certificates
Once you finish your required courses, you need to fill out and submit your certificates of completion and some additional forms.
For each legal update course, you must complete a Distance Education Reporting Form and email it to email@example.com. For 30-hour courses, print your certificate of completion, fill it out, and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please submit all documents at least 10 days before you apply to renew your license.
Step 3: Apply to Renew Your License Online
Visit the TREC website to renew your license online. You also need to pay the renewal fee before your license expires. Your license will not renew until all completed SAE courses are posted to your profile on the TREC website.
